Applications - ASAR

Global and Regional

The applications intended for ASAR data can be divided into Global and Regional.The type of ASAR mode used depends on the spatial scale of the application.

Image Selection

The European Space Agency (ESA) have created a very useful table for relating application type to the three ASAR modes, informations is also included about polarisation combination, swath and any other remarks necessary.

Image Interpretation

Some key rules for interpreting Radar imagery have also been specified by the ESA. It may also be worth working through the Radar modules provided by the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing.
