The following documents provide further information about Landsat data:
- Landsat-Thematic Mapper (TM) CCT Format Standards, revision 2 (CST 550).
NB: This is a very technical document, so don't worry if you are a bit bewildered when reading it. It was not written to be an easy read! Give it time and, hopefully, it will make sense. - Last, but not least, there is a very extensive library of Remote Sensing books. Of these, Remote Sensing and Image Interpretation by T.M.Lillesand and R.W.Kiefer provides a good overview and introduction of the subject of Remote Sensing.
Training
1) The Landmap Service Image Processing Courses provides exercises and sample data to attempt a range of image processing techniques, the course has been adapted for ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, PCI and Idrisi Kilimanjaro software. The course requires an Athens Username and Password.
2) ESRI (UK) offers a wide range of training courses including the Fundamentals of ERDAS Imagine image processing course. Courses can also be taken on-line via the ESRI Virtual Campus once you have registered for a Global Account
3) A self-work training book was developed by the Geography Department at Leicester University as part of a AGOCG. Click here for information about this and other training materials. The AGOCG technical report about image processing is also available: Image Processing Software Evaluation Report.
