Landmap's optical & thermal, radar, elevation and feature collections give a combination of remotely sensed imagery and spatial data information unique in UK academia.

Free and Accessible
The Landmap Service buys datasets from leading data providers and supplies them free-of-charge to the UK academic community. Optical & Thermal, Radar, Elevation and Feature Collections are delivered to users using Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) specifications for maximum accessibility.

Build 3D Models
High quality data such as LiDAR and a 5m DEM allows the possibility of creating 3D Models that can be used for a range of applications such as flood modelling, terrain analysis and city planning.

About
Landmap is funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) and is a Mimas hosted service. Providing high quality spatial datasets is the main aim of the service enhanced with a diverse range of learning materials to support their use.

Landmap Kaia - Beta Release

Landmap data can be downloaded in a variety of formats using the Web Coverage Service (WCS) specifications.
The Kaia portal provides free access to data sourced from the below leading data suppliers.
Please note Kaia only currently supports IE and Firefox.

Find out what data we have. The Datasets pages provides useful information about each type of spatial data Landmap hosts. The data is split into four collections: Optical & Thermal, Radar, Elevation and Feature. The datasets pages contain links to information about the satellite, characteristics and applications of the data type.
Learning Zone
Get started with using the data. The Learning Zone contains a variety of courses developed by members of the academic community and commercial spatial data companies. Courses can be selected based on the name, data type, level or software.
