Landmap Kaia Guidance
Introduction
This section provides a description of the Landmap Kaia Viewer so that you can become familiar with the location and function of tools and buttons available.
1) Landmap Logo

Click on the Landmap Logo to return you to the Landmap website homepage.
2) Menu Bar

The above menu bar contains: -
- Website Links - Provides links to the Cities Revealed and Mimas website.
- Help - This menu provides a link to inform you about the original creators of the web client. The User Guidance heading brings you back to this web page.
3) Toolbar

Descriptions from left to right of the toolbar.
a) Zoom - Allows users to zoom in and out of the Map window. To use click on the zoom icon place cursor within the Map window around your area of interest and hold down the left mouse button while zooming the image in or out.
b) Zoom Box - The tool allows users to draw a box around an area of interest by holding down the left mouse button once the left mouse button is released the Map view will zoom to the user defined box area extent.
c) Pan - Allows the user to move around the Map view in any direction when holding down the left mouse button. This tool enables users to quickly scan the imagery in the Map view.
d) Zoom All - When selecting this tool the Map view will change to show the full extent of the data in the viewer.
e) Query a Point - Provides details of the x, y coordinates of a point selected in the image with results displayed within the query tab of the service panel and also showing in the status bar.
f) Query a Polygon - Allows areas to be drawn and queried results can be found within the query tab of the service panel.
g) Go Back to Previous Map Extent - This tools assists the user in returning to the previous map extent after zooming in or out of an area.
h) Go Forward to Previous Viewed Map Extent - This tool allows users to go forward to the map extent previously viewed.
4) Landmap Kaia Viewer

The
Landmap Kaia
Viewer provides the interface for the streamed data to be viewed. Please note the window can be resized.
When a different layer is selected in the Catalogue of Imagery the layer will appear in the viewer. If a layer is switched on which is located below the current switched on layer then you will not see it appear as it will be hidden by the layer above.
5) Catalogue of Imagery

The above Catalogue provides a list of the different types of data available at the Landmap Service. When a data type is selected then a list of image layers within that imagery type will populate in the Image Layers window within the Layers tab. Several Catalogues can be switched on together and layers from different data types can be viewed at the same time using the transparency slider within the Image Layers window..
6) Image Layers Window

The Image Layers window provides a range of user options.
a) Transparency Bar - allows users to vary the transparency of the current selected layer (top most layer). This tool is ideal for comparing one image which is overlayed over another image of the same spatial extent e.g. comparing a radar image to an optical image.
b) Layer Tab - Provides a list of layers within the highlighted Catalogue. The layer tab will provide either a date and time the data was acquired or path and row information. This information is necessary for locating the data in the download area of the Landmap website
The small blue arrow to the left of the layer description allows layers to be moved up within the Service Menu.
c) Legend Tab - When a layer is selected the legend tab is populated with a thumbnail of the image and brief description.
d) Search Tab - Results from search not really applicable to raster datasets.
e) Query Tab - Provides results from the query tools in this area.
7) Status Bar

The Status Bar provides information about the scale of the Image Streaming Viewer and Latitude, Longitude co-ordinates of the current image.
