Access to Software
Some software is provided with the course such as CR Viewer and Global Mapper whereas other software can be downloaded free from the internet such as Google Sketch-Up. If you do not have the software required for the course then our software guidance pages will be of help which will provide links to the suppliers and also licensing information.
Exercises
Step-by-Step - the course provides detailed instructions of how the student needs to use the software to complete exercises. This is ideal for when a student is new to a piece of software and needs to learn the main operational functions. The Step-by-Step exercises usually have an application which students can relate to and will understand the meaning of any outputs/results generated. This could also be supplemented with a classroom discussion to identify and reoccurring issues students may face when doing the exercises.
Freestyle - takes the form of an open ended question which requires a demonstration and challenge of the procedures and concepts learned by the step-by-step exercises an example of this would be the unit called Putting it all Together in the Object Oriented Classification Course.
