Q. Why cite data?

A. Data should be cited just the same as you would cite an article, journal or book. Data citation is essential for:

  • enabling the appropriate reuse of data and to verify data
  • allow data results to be tracked back to the original source
  • acknowledges scholarly work and development of the data

Q. How do I acknowledge and cite data from Landmap?

A. When you use any Landmap dataset in publications or research, you must include the citation and appropriate copyright acknowledgement.  It is important that all users download a copy of the Terms and Conditions of use, understand these Terms and Conditions and follow these during their research.

Q. Can I use the data in publications and research?

A. Yes, you can use Landmap data in publications and research just as long as you acknowledge the Landmap Service and include the copyright statements.
